Digital Alliance G-Premium Gaming Mouse Review – The Perfect $30 FPS Mouse with a PIXART Sensor

Quick Summary:

The Digital Alliance G-Premium Gaming Mouse is the perfect First Person Shooter (FPS) mouse with high-end features and specifications you can find on branded high-end mice such as the Pixart P3360 sensor and Omron switches for only $30. The mouse feels premium with amazing build quality for a mice at this price range. The Digital Alliance G-Premium mouse also has RGB lighting and customizable side grips which  will make you love this mouse even more.

What’s Good

  • Pixart 3360 sensor up to 12,000 DPI (same as other branded high end mouse)
  • Omron switches with 20 million clicks
  • Customizable side grips
  • RGB Lighting Effects
  • Braided cable
  • Gold plated USB plug

What’s Bad

  • Buttons are shallow and heavy to press
  • High LOD/Lift off distance

Since I broke my legendary Zowie EC2-A mouse that has been with me for the past 4 years, I needed a replacement for my daily needs and gaming needs. I needed a mouse that is as good as the Zowie with a sensor capable of FPS games and a mouse switch that is comfortable and durable. However I didn’t have the budget to buy another Zowie mouse.

Luckily my friend told me about the G-Premium gaming mouse by Digital Alliance. At first I was a bit hesitant about it. However as I saw the design of the mouse, and the features it has I WAS HOOKED!

And guess what? It is only $30 (~Rp.450,000)!!

Literally 5 minutes later.. I ordered the mouse online.

Initial Impressions

Mouse packaging with the additional side grips visible

The box itself is cool because it is a simple black box and it doesn’t look cheap and comes with additional side grips.

But as you can see, it is no ordinary mouse. It looks super similar to the Zowie mouse that I had!

On the back side of the box you can see the features of the mouse itself.

Design + Quality

The mouse has a unique Magnet system that allows customizing and changing the mouse side grip. In the box there is an additional side grip that you can attach for people who uses the “Palm Grip” and is attached to your mouse by snapping it on the magnets.

However, after using it for a month, the mouse coating gets oily easily 🙁 The mouse also features Braided Cable + Gold Plated USB which helps the cable last longer and the gold plated USB plug helps resist corrosion.

Oh did I mention it is RGB with MANY RGB EFFECTS?

Mouse features RGB effects you can control on their app

The ergonomics of the mouse is amazing because of the additional grips!

Claw Grip YES
Fingertip Grip YES
Palm Grip YES (use the additional grip)

The mouse looks similar to the Zowie EC2-A mouse. As a Zowie user I can directly use this mouse without much adaptation since the grip and size is similar.

Buttons & Scroll Wheel

The mouse and its buttons.

This mouse features Omron switches (up to 20 million clicks) for the main buttons of the mouse (left click + right click) which are excelllent. However with the design of the mouse + the switch is really shallow and heavy to click (heavier than the Zowie EC2-A’s buttons). The scroll wheel feels standard and has a good grip too.

On top there are two DPI Buttons to increase/decrease the mouse DPI/CPI and then the scroll wheel and logo will light up according to the DPI:

  • 800 (Red)
  • 1600 (Green)
  • 2400 (Blue)
  • 3600 (Orange)
  • 5200 (Purple)
  • 12000 (White)

There are also a standard set of two side buttons that can be programmed for macros

Performance and Sensor

Now we get to the part why I actually bought the mouse (other than the Omron switches). This mouse rocks the Pixart 3360 Optical Sensor (12,000 DPI max). This is an EXCELLENT SENSOR and very popular for First Person Shooter (FPS) games because of the amazing tracking accuracy!

The bottom of the mouse and the mouse sensor

Even these more expensive branded mouse used by Pro FPS players uses this same sensor:

  • Steelseries Rival 700 ($99)
  • CM Storm MasterMouse Pro ($60)
  • Even Zowie’s products has the 3360 sensor!

This means that this mouse is EXCELLENT FOR FPS GAMERS who play CS:GO, PUBG, Fortnite and more! I personally play CS:GO and I can say that this mouse is on par with other more expensive mice that I have used in the past.

NOTE: However in my opinion the Zowie is a bit better tuned because for some reason the tracking on the Zowie is a bit more consistent compared to the Digital Alliance (don’t worry, you won’t realize it unless you use them both side by side).

Suprisingly the software is actually pretty good. You can set your DPI, lighting effects, mouse parameters (sensitivity, speed, mouse acceleration, etc), and polling rate right on the app). You can also edit the functions of the mouse buttons and also set your own macros. Last but not least, you can save your settings on your own profiles so that you can easily set up your mouse for different tasks.

Here are a few screenshots and my own configurations (which you can also follow too) from the app:

You can set your own custom DPI with custom light indicator colors
You can set the RGB effects here!
This helps set your mouse settings and sets your mouse acceleration settings
You can set your polling rate

As previously said, this mouse is super similar to the Zowie EC2-A.

Grip is almost identical to Zowie EC2-A (although on the G-Premium you can add extra grips to better suit your hands). Tracking is similar but acceptable for the price (the EC2-A’s sensor is better tuned). However unlike the Zowie that uses the Huano switches, the Digital Alliance uses the Omron switches (which is heavier than the Zowie switch to click). The zowie also doesn’t have a braided cable which Digital Alliance has. However I have to give a +1 point to Digital Alliance which added RGB on the mouse for extra flare haha. LOD or Lift of Distance on the Digital Alliance is too damn high though compared to Zowie’s amazingly short LOD.

It only costs $30 (Rp.450,000)!

This is definitely the poor man’s Zowie EC2-A!

For FPS gamers that are just starting to look at a more serious mouse, I really suggest you to look at this mouse first as a starter mouse because of the cheaper price and the similar feel and performance of the Zowie EC2-A. The impressive features and customization made me love this mouse more than I thought I would.

Should I buy it?

Are you an FPS Gamer?

If you are, buy it.. ASAP!!! The Pixart 3360 sensor on this mouse is on par with higher end mice and you also get Omron switches which lasts 20 million clicks too!

Are you a casual gamer?

Casual gamers will also benefit a lot from buying this mouse! The improved tracking will definitely improve all of your gaming skills! Also it has RGB which makes your computer setup more fancy!

RGB goodness!
